Ozone Therapy

What is the Ozone Therapy?

We are excited to expand our IV therapy capability with the addition of Ozone Therapy. Most people are familiar with ozone’s role in blocking the sun’s harm ultraviolet rays, but ozone has been used in alternative and naturopathic medicine since the 1900’s to treat a variety of health conditions.

Ozone is a colorless and odorless gas composed of three oxygen atoms (O3), whereas the oxygen we breathe is composed of two oxygen atoms (O2). Unlike oxygen, ozone is extremely unstable because that extra oxygen atom wants to break off and combine with other molecules, this process is known as oxidation. While breathing ozone is harmful to the lungs, the ozone we use clinically is medical grade, administered in therapeutic doses and intravenously.

What are the Benefits of Ozone Therapy?

Bactericidal, Fungicidal and Viricidal

Because of ozone’s positive charge, it has an oxidative effect on organic compounds and can neutralize negatively charged foreign cells such as bacteria, yeast, viruses and parasites, effectively killing active infections.

Detoxification

Ozone may mediate oxidative stress, a leading cause of aging and disease, and may correct and activate metabolic processes in liver and kidney tissues leading to increased toxin elimination.

Anti-inflammatory

Ozone oxidizes the compounds containing double bonds which participate in the development and the sustaining of inflammatory processes. Ozone has been shown in studies to effectively reduce inflammatory cytokines in the body.

Immune System

Ozone both activates the immune system in patients with decreased immune system function or acts as a regulator of the immune system in patients with an overactive immune system.

Autoimmune Conditions

Ozone may modulate the modulate the immune system and rebalance the overactivity seen in many autoimmune conditions.

Improved Blood Circulation

Ozone is an inducer of endothelial nitric oxide synthase leading to improved blood flow and microcirculation.

Improved Energy

Ozone has been shown to improve tissue oxygenation and activate mitochondria leading to increased ATP production and energy.

Pain Relief

Ozone oxidizes the products that act on nerve endings in damaged tissues and determine the intensity of pain felt. It also stimulates the body’s natural anti-inflammatory response. Additionally, ozone can be injected in painful joints to stimulate the regenerative healing process.

Performance Enhancement

ozone therapy may able to improve oxygen metabolism and reduce muscular fatigue.

What conditions can be treated with Ozone?

“While ozone is an amazing therapeutic tool, outside of certain acute infections, it is not a cure-all and should be used a part of a comprehensive treatment program.” -Dr. Greg Jones

Infections of ANY type

Viral, bacterial, fungal, parasitic, upper respiratory infections (sinus, ears, nasal, throat), Lyme disease, EBV, herpes, etc.

Inflammatory conditions

Arthritis, fibromyalgia, bursitis, non-healing wounds, bursitis, cholecystitis, pancreatitis, allergic reactions, carpal tunnel syndrome, etc.

Autoimmune conditions

Fibromyalgia, Lupus, Rheumatoid arthritis, Multiple Sclerosis, Colitis, Crohn’s Disease, etc.

Circulatory conditions

Cardiovascular disease, peripheral vascular disease, deep vein thrombosis, claudication, diabetic ulcers, etc.

Pain

Post-herpetic neuralgia pain (pain lingering after shingles, herpes zoster infection), tight or spasming muscles. When injected into a joint, tendon or ligament, ozone has a regenerative effect, stimulating repair of musculoskeletal structures in the low back, knees, hips, shoulder, and more.

Other

Chronic fatigue, diabetes, heavy metal toxicity, IBS, mold toxicity, etc

How is Ozone Therapy delivered?

  • Major Autohemotherapy: Major Autohemotherapy involves removing a sample of the patient’s blood and mixing it in a saline IV bag with ozone. Then, it is reinfused over approximately 30 minutes.
  • Regenerative injections(Prolozone): Your prolotherapy or PRP injection is followed by ozone injections into the same area.

Who should not receive Ozone Therapy?

You should avoid ozone therapy if you are pregnant, taking blood thinner medications, experience internal bleeding, diagnosed with anemia or low platelet count, have a history of hemorrhagic or apoplectic Stroke, recent myocardial infarction (heart attack), ozone allergy, or have been diagnosed with a G6PD deficiency.
